First Team Match Report - Saturday 29th September 2007

Ardingly 0 - 0 Newick

After a sluggish start we warmed to the task and played well for long stretches of the game. Newick had a few early chances but then we started to create chances  and missed about half a dozen goal scoring opportunities before half time. Jon Quick settled into his striker role and was supported by Dave W , Dale, Joe and Andy with Matt W holding the midfield and having another good game.

Danny slotted into the left back position well and the defence played well for most of the match. Mike didn’t get to his normal high level of performance and this is because he played in goal for the last few matches. Both Ben and Mark seem to be settling into their roles well.

The second half was all about attacking and with three substitutions this gave us fresh legs to attack the Newick goal. Unfortunately this wasn’t to be our day – many chances went over the bar or just missed. The main thing is we created opportunities for the team and everybody  played well and contributed to the game.
