Third Team Match Report - Saturday 10th November 2007

MSFL - Division 9

Ardingly 6 - 2 Buxted III

by Steve Korniotis

A good solid team performance resulting in a good win. We dominated the first half and created plenty of chances although only went in 2-0 which could easily have been 4/5-0. Having not put away all our first half chances we let Buxted back into the game and shortly after the restart they pulled one back. This gave them a lift and they came close to pulling it back to 2-2. A quick counter-attack and some great inter play from the midfield to the forwards however gave us a much needed opening and our 2 goal advantage was restored. This totally deflated the spirits of the opposition and they crumbled with the flood gates opening. Aside from a late consolation goal for Buxted we totally out played them.

A great result - well done lads!

Goals from Peter Taylor x2, Nas Elfurgani, Peter Lewis, Philip Payne and recent signing Joe Wood in his debut match

Manager's comment:

Paul Halliwell was MOM for his great defensive work especially his heading, he hardly missed a header all game, which was important when they had periods when they could have got back into the game. A good performance from the ref, Dave Spence.  Thanks lads for a much better attitude and generally not dissenting the refs decisions which not only improved the atmosphere of the game but lead to a better performance as we were focusing more on the game and less on the ref and his decision making.
